Nanna

Nanna

A Poem by Sammy

NANNA

We talked a little less but you slept alot more, you can barely hold a conversation like the many times before.
Your weak I can see this more now, sat holding your fragile hand.
I glance at you whilst you doze, my heart bleeds a moment in time froze.

I talk softly carrying on our pointless conversation, hoping your just listening to my voice.
I hope you find comfort in me being there!
I can't find the right words to say, I wish I could take all your pain and frustrations away!

But all I can do is sit here, looking wondering why?
Holding back my tears trying not to cry!
I gasp and you wake up, a small smile and you make me well up.
I squeeze your hand as you do mine, not needing to say a word or even try.

I love you nanna
Forever and a day
