Sleep

Sleep

A Poem by Andrea
"

zzzzzzz.....

"
I am the weariness in your face,
the anchor in your eyelids.
The face of the clock
doesn't matter this time.
You could really use some rest.

The stresses on your shoulders hurt.
Replace it with a nightgown.
Forget about the people who drag you down.
Focus on the dreams.
Oh, how you deserve to dream.

Your body is tired.
Your mind needs some ease.
The nightmarish day is ending now.
It's time to relax those bones.

The mattress is there to lift you up
and blankets to hug you close.
Your pillow is there to remind you who you are.
You my dear, are a sleeper.

I am your sleep.
Drift off into sweet thoughts now
and find me.
