Skin To Shed

Skin To Shed

A Poem by Andrea
"

...

"
Skin falling off
like a rainfall of glass.
Watch me shatter as i
hit the floor.
Watch me cut
right through your veins.

Your blood drips like
stalactites in a cave.
It stains the floor
and crackles as
it dries.

I have had enough
of this bitter truth.
Your moments are useless
and I,
I am hopeless.

Time to shed
this skin again.
I form my cocoon.
Another rebirth as a worm.
I can't fly away
with wings that refuse
to form.

Glaciers fall to earth again
and crashing stars sink ships.
I ponder how many hands
would rise to bid
if I were to place
a price-tag on
these bones.

Also, the incorporation of the basic senses of touch taste hearing etc. is a delight, whether or not intentional.

This is really good...this issue is often written about specially by teenagers that it's like everyone's writing the same poems...but this is somehow different...some phrases are unique and very appealing..

It stains the floor and crackles as it dries.

Another rebirth as a worm. I can't fly away with wings that refuse to form.

This is some cool poetry. :-)

I really like this concept of shedding skin. Here you filled it with impact and serious content. It is almost like your voice is be projected in tone above all to be heard by a specific someone. I wonder because it is also a form of growth, but with the way you constructed it I can't help but see a certain pointed quality. It was very real and surreal to peel away flesh in this life, but it sometimes is a necessary time to be better in the head. I liked it. :)

Nicely done. Rebirth is always a good thing. Shed the skin and breathe free once more. Excellent read.
