Dance of the Stars

Dance of the Stars

A Poem by Andrea
"

A party in the night sky

"

Dance of the Stars

Inside the night,
mirror image of day,
the sun has set.
It’s time to play.

The stars emerge
from within their dreams,
for when the sun is up
it’s their time to sleep,

but they wake with the moon
and fill the sky fast
and shine up the night
as they start to dance.

The music chimes loud
and can only be heard by stars;
fast beat tribal drums
smooth rolling bass guitars,

and all of the world
so filled with cheer
and the stars, they spin
from here to there.

A ballroom of lights
painting pictures upon the night sky,

and they’ll dance and they’ll sing
until it’s their turn to sleep

The moon kisses them goodnight
as they rest on the horizon,
and their black sky turns blue
and the sunshine begin.

I like the cyclical nature of the transcendence into night and out. Then back again to daylight. It's a joyful night scene. I also have music on file which sounds like how you described it to the night sky. Visually intriguing. Nice work!

This poem has a really nice rhythm, i like the use of slant rhyme especially in the 3rd stanza, with the words fast and dance, it made me smile when i saw that. (:
