Screaming

Screaming

A Poem by Andrea
"

Unable to explain what that one person means to me

"
I saw you screaming.
I couldn't hear the words
or the sounds you were forcing,
trying to break through
the sound-proof glass
stuck between us,

but by the look on your face
and the corruption in your movement
I can tell, you were screaming,
and so was I:

Not sure if it was out of love,
out of hate,
out of sorrow,
or pure anger.

but there was hope in there:

of a future,
of a moment,
of a memory,

or perhaps nothing was to be made of it
at all.
Just two people screaming themselves hoarse,
screaming to a deafened world.
Praying for an echo
but all that is heard is silence.

sounds like a dream/nightmare. i like the way that although it starts in a pessimistic fashion, you managed to fit hope in there too. if this was a dream and i had to interpret it, i would say the screaming silence is about unresolved issued, possibly between two people who no longer talk. great piece. i like the way you leave it open to different possibilities.
