Her Eyes

Her Eyes

A Poem by Andrea
"

The beauty that is found in certain peoples eyes.

"
Her eyes:
you will never see her eyes.

As beautiful as they are
they will always find a reason
and place to hide,

but believe me when I say
her eyes
melt like caramel
for they are the softest shades of brown.

You will never see
her eyes
and how they transform
and outshine any light.

Under the hottest summer suns
her eyes
are freckled brandy red.

Some days her irises
shine a pale olive green.
If she were to cry
on one of those days
her tear drops would sparkle
like emeralds;

but you will never see these eyes,
always plastered with thick black makeup,
always imprisoned under big brown shades,

or staring downward
so you will never see the way
her eyes
gaze directly at you.

She seems very real. As you can not allow just anybody into your world. voyeuristic in nature. The only real way to see people for who they are. It reminds me of my favorite Olive tune, "Your not alone." Check it out. On another note good use of vocabulary and the structure is strong. I enjoyed this. :)

Melt like caramel? your use of language is brilliant. i could have looked at those same eyes and never have come up with that description. Funny how it is always the people who distract attention away from themseves that do have those eyes. Beautifully done.
