Fallen Leaves

Fallen Leaves

A Poem by Andrea
"

Being able to recall an Autumn romance and be able to smile, not regret.

"
We made love
in a pile of fallen leaves.
Their crunch, the sound of their death
is something I will always remember.
The crisp smell of the Autumn air
drew circles around my thoughtless head,
and I was lost in a dream.
I was simply asleep

in yours arms where I was meant to be;
hopelessly lost in your paradise filled skies:
Such a radiant blue
until the Winter breeze
painted our love the darkest shades
of grey.

I find myself lying alone now
in the very same pile of leaves;
Where you graced my life with a smile
and made my heart feel lighter than air.

The world is still scented like the season,
the playful uprising of Fall.
It is still such a beautiful moment
but it would be so much better if you
were still here.

what an extraordinary memory you hold.
My favorite line,
"The world is still scented like the season,
the playful uprising of Fall.
