To Take Flight

Written like a Limerick, but it's not. Not really.

I once tried to teach myself to fly,
and so failed even though I did try.
Oh, I tried this with might,
but I never took flight,
and here is the exact reason why:

His ad said "Be airborne! I'm your guy!"
and I paid him, though his prices seemed high.
I knew something wasn't right,
when he gave me a kite,
then said "See there? My ads never lie!"

To this tale, a moral I came by:
"Better to laugh at oneself than to cry".
Though the proverb may seem trite,
thought it better than this might,
"In a plane crash you're likely to die".
