Let's Start a Riot

Let's Start a Riot

A Chapter by Erza

We start to head to the town square with the rest of the crowd, noticing the amount of people that are gathering with them.
"If she's already gain this much of a following here, this does not mean well for our side."
"I agree, this needs to be looked into." Ty presses a button on his HUD, assuming to be the recorder, as to examine all of this later at our next council.
By the time we reach the square theres quite a population there. the majority of the students, or would survivors work better? Either way, it looks more like people are curious as to what is going more than following her, speaking of which it was the same freshman girl from the first day, with a few more following her which are to be assumed her councilmen. she takes place at her podium, calming the crowd, and begins to speak as we make our way to the middle of the crowd.
"Fellow Students, I stand here with my closest followers today to inform you. Inform you that you stand apposed to the wrong side of all this." murmurs break out, quite ones, but she continues. "We need not fight nature and its creatures and followers, but much instead join them, work with them, even live with them when possible, for they mean us no more harm than we do to them when we stand side by side. We can Befriend them, become partners with them, and instead live here with them in harmony." At this point the crowd was split in many different ways, but there was generally two different sides: those who agreed with her and those who didn't. Those who agreed with her generally yelled agreeing words and yelling on an almost riot level, those who didn't either left or yelled against her. Clearly a fight might break out and this was what she was intending to cause.
"Ty, give me a boost."
"Sure?" he gets on one knee and I hop on this back, he stands up and I carefully steady my self on his shoulders while he and Ren brace me.
"GUYS! GUYS! Stop arguing for one moment!" The clamor calmed down enough for me to talk to them without thrashing my voice. "Take a moment and listen to what she's saying. Working with them? LIVING with them? You all have either seen those creatures on the outside or have heard stories of those things. Some are passive, yes we can live with a few of them, but most of them? They could care less weather we work with them or not." People were listening but words were being shout at me, mostly those who thought otherwise and who didn't like what I was saying. "How can we work with Zombies? Demonic Eyes? Slimes? and when we get farther into this place the greater evils that hide in this place, like Eater of Souls, Devourers, actual Demons, or even this voice's generals? How well do you think that will work then?" some people are on her side clearly have changed, others thinking it over, others still not believing a word I say. "If you still think I may be lying, trying to pull a fast one over to pull you under some tyranny, I dare all of you, every single one of you, after night fall to look on the other side of that well, hell GO outside that wall. Ill let the guards know to let those who want to see to let them through, but know this: If you go outside and try to bring a horde of those things I will make sure the guards don't open or even help you guys, same with those who dare try to harm our group, those," I pull out my sword. people started backing up "I will deal with myself. Me, and the council, can lead this in a peaceful manner, but piss me off or threaten the order and others here and break the rules, I will bring down an iron fist. So let it be known: follow her or us, I don't care, just know that I am sacrificing no resources on any one who screws up tonight or tries to sabotage us." I get off of Ty's shoulders and start to walk off towards the construction sight. After a few minutes of silence Ren and Ty join me.
"Hey Charles, wasn't that a bit harsh?" asked Ren.
"Harsh, yes, but unneeded? no. If people are going to act like children here I'm going to treat them like one. lets see what happens tomarrow, see how many are still here...hopefully not dead but well see." the ensuing silence tells me that they don't fully agree with what I did but they cant really argue with it either.
Construction goes on as planned. Rooms are being built at a steady pace and with a few newly made looms and some intrepid and brave explorers we start to make beds as well. If the rate goes at it does rooms will be done in about 2 weeks. As night begins to fall and as the new guard shift moves in, I tell them to let those who want to leave to allow them but not to allow back in if followed. I fall to sleep both peacefully and unrestful as Ren comforts me.

"So did anyone leave the town?" I asked walking up to the guards men.
"A few, they all came back in though clearly convinced of what you said."
"Good. Hopefully this'll help with this other group."
"About that, they've been posting new flyers around, but instead of an announcement they are claiming to have a walk out of the town to start a new one."
"What!?"
"See for yourself, kept one in case you were curious." The guard hands a small piece of paper, not much bigger than a piece of copy paper. On it is a semi-crude drawing of two towns; this one as some hell hole and another presented as an Eden. On it says "Let us leave the place of evil and join nature in its paradise. join us 2 weeks from now to start a new better civilization!" I stare at this in disbelief for what seems like minutes before saying anything.
"Unbelievable..."
"What do you want us to do?"
"For now, don't worry about it. This is getting to a point that it will take too much energy to fight back. We'll deal with it as it gets closer to the day of their leave." I leave the guardsmen to their duties. I really hope this doesn't become an actual issue I have to address.
