Lie back and rest, you've earned your sleep
You have not any promises that you must keep
I tried to give you the world
but this world is full of sin
Before your wings could unfurl
The Beast was loosed again

 

Momma's gonna buy you a diamond ring

 

Lie your head next to mine, as you dream and drift
All this time is but sand, and it stirs and shifts
I'll sing no more
this darkening day
All will be as it was before
And for your soul I shall pray
