comfortably numb
the battles we lost;
the war’s only just begun.
Nuclear bombs; World War III
M.A.D
and utter madness
sheer pain and hatred
drives this machine forward, and forward it does go
crushing everything you loved and owned
as Syria goes up in flames
I watched, nothing has changed
everything is still the same
we shall take up arms yet again
in Manhattan and in Berlin
Iran, Moscow, Algeria and Japan
you wait,
and you shall seewhat there
will be (blood!)
Pyongyang rises, and rises some more
emptiness on the horizon, whispers about nuclear weapons and another World War
as the ships take to the placid sea
it's the Iron Curtain; it’s M.A.D
as the ensemble prepares
for the next tragedy
Love, lust, and vengeance
give us Saint Paul
time for repentance(just not yet)
lest we remember let us forget
Checkpoint Charlie
the wind that shakes the barley
horns calling the Army
why live? I ask him again.
Why? To witness history
repeat itself and then
see all the children
who we failed to inspire
blow up in flames yet again
Madness,
M.A.D
World War III
is this the human condition?
is this what it is to Be?
Nothing upon the horizon
as
ships take to the seas. No light, no amour
no lands further
ahead, two madmen in a boat
searching for the middle of the ocean
as we sink, sinking deeper still, no fight
no power to Will
yet raising our masts even still
sailing the vacant waters
nothing uncharted
no more, in this age
notwithstanding, altogether lost.
All together!
sing! We sing:
Music! Please more
music
as a cry, a
shudder
accompanies the
dark night
without rescue
without escape, we
can not take flight
so we hold our
ground ad fight
(no ground; where
is the enemy?)
Against what foe?
I don’t know/ich weish
nicht
Ebenso.
History unfortunately does have a habit of repeating itself, like now we have the least among us ruling us with their over inflated ego's and it is just a matter of time to see which despot goes ahead and ends us, to stop their perceived enemy from gaining their spoils of war.
I do hope that there is infinite universes. That way we might actually get it right one day and live to tell the tale instead of wiping us out of existence, which seems to be the probable path we are on.
Just think of that. The possibility of waking one day to see the most beautiful sunrise that we never thought we'd live to see, without the need for war always being on our minds and in our fears.
As someone once said "it's easy iglf you try!"
Let's hope so. 😃
