What I love about this piece is how you center our attention on a single element of the natural world, and in so doing remind us of the duality of the forces of nature and humanity. Wind can sweep us around or soothe our souls, and the winds of human nature can bring the same.

We can walk into the wind and re-discover our strengths as we do with times, life.. A ruffian wind whispers 'meet my challenge' ; a budding friendly wind whispers, 'let me help you along the way . Perhaps

Of all the elements the wind is the one I fear most. The power of a raging wind can be terrifying, but the whisper of a spring breeze can be so calming. Such contrasts. And then when there is no movement at all, the stillness offers safety. Your poem gives me a variety of sounds and also differing speeds and stillness. It can be so destructive and yet also gentle. It can give and it can take. I travelled to many places in your lines Ern. Your poetry always opens up so many avenues for thought. Thank you for sharing and good to see you back.

ironically, or perhaps not, wind in many cultures represent change. maybe there is an important connection between the now and the next - if there is a difference to begin with.
thanks for your comment. and thank you for allowing me to write a little essay here :D
Hope is heard in the still silence
Hope is seen in the bleakest tones
I have never seen hope in action, This is wonderful, I enjoyed your words here.

Sheer beauty and power in this poem, even mystery.
As if you are trying to grab somethings before the wind takes them away; as if you are clutching on to fallen leaves in your life; as if you are chasing seasons in your mind.

The wind ... light sometimes and full gale force at other times ... does push us along, doesn't it. It carries our cries of agony and jubilation. Butterfly wings in the garden imprinted with sound. Loved this write:)

Life takes us in different directions but we mustn’t loose hope.
We must court and ride on the obstacles and make the most of them.
Nobody said it would be easy
It’s a fascinating slice of history that makes one queasy and uneasy
Yet, pressing on is what we must do …to keep evolving.
This is a metaphoric masterpiece Ern.
Simple but powerful
I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The wind is a force, we can control it but when use as fuel.
This seems like a poem of constancy in all things. Interesting poem, Ern.
