In You I Trust

In You I Trust

A Poem by ~Wandering Soul~

Did you notice me trip, did you see me fall
laying cold and alone, on this dirty floor
No comfort from you, Not a tear of despair
Should have known better, than to think you would care

For me
Just to dream
a peaceful dream
Not full of anger or the hurt
you inspire inside of me
A thousand tears
All cried for you
Where were you when you once said
you’d stay with me
But you’re not here

So cold and alone, didn’t see when I’d smile
I tried so hard to prove, I’m no longer a child
Could you look this way, Or is it asking too much
Silently praying for, one moment of trust

For me
Just to dream
a peaceful dream
Not full of anger or the hurt
you inspire inside of me
A thousand tears
All cried for you
Where were you when you once said
you’d stay with me
But you were gone

So now im tired, Long sleepless nights
Praying one day you, will notice all these lights
They shine on you, Why can’t you see
You’re the only one, to see the good in me

For me
Just to dream
a peaceful dream
So full of faith and hope
you inspire inside of me
Red golden stars
Shine down on us
You’re back with me I always knew
In you I trust

This definitely reads like a song, I want to sing it ~ I loved the emotion in this piece as well, although the ending was surprising (yay for unexpected, happy endings :)) I really, really, really love the lines, "So cold and alone, didn't see when I'd smile / I tried so hard to prove I'm no longer a child." - my favorite of the poem! great job!
