Losing Me To You

Losing Me To You

A Poem by ~Wandering Soul~
"

everyone always tries to be "better", the only thing they really end up achieving, is becoming another clone to society, and becoming someone they aren't. They lose who they are, while trying so desperately to be someone else.....

"

I tell you things that you
tell me that you need to hear
But when I tell you
you keep screaming in my ear
I find it hard to keep my head
above these crashing waves
In a room of dying people
I'm the one that no one saves

You seem to know me better
then I even know myself
I can't help thinking
The walls are spinning
But everyone keeps standing still
You say you know me
But I don't know myself
so how could you
how can I

I told you its too late for this cause
It's something we just can't fix
I've lost myself in being you
You be you just for kicks
I'll suck it in and hold my
breathe while trying to breathe
In desperation I let go I'm blue cold
It's the loss of me I greive

You seem to know me better
then I even know myself
I can't help thinking
The walls are spinning
But everyone keeps standing still
You say you know me
But I don't know myself
so how could you
how can I

You talk like him
and dress like her
You lost yourself
While being me
You talk like her
and dress like him
You lost yourself
Why can't you see.

Wow...this is a profound piece...deep. Yes, couples do often loose themselves in each other while allowing their own identities to slip away. I like the way you rephrased the words to mean the same thing. The ending verse was great! Perfect summarization of an awesome poem.
