One Year On....

One Year On....

A Poem by ~Wandering Soul~
"

the 10th of april marked the birthday of my best friend......and the one year anniversary of the death of a girl i once knew.....a local hero......who took her last stand against death.....she wil; never be forgotten R.I.P Donnica Clarke

"

Hard to believe

Now one year on

Never will believe

You're really gone

Pain kept you going

For ten minutes more

Pain could'nt save you

After that deadly fall

Your body broken

Your last thought

Our hearts broken

life can't be bought

Your smiling face

Loud terrified cry

As you fall down

Screaming goodbye

My tears slide down

Now one year on

My tears won't stop

Cause you're gone.

its been one year since she died.....she had spent the day having fun with a friend who had come down from queesland down to NSW (aus)...they were running late in getting home so they took a shortcut across the rocks at a local beach......and she slipped 50m......i still cant believe she is gone

She was so great! I remember watching the news and even when they didn't state her name, I knew it'd be one of our friends. Bryn rang me that day to tell me and it ripped my heart. Even now the tears are flowing- she was too young to die! I can't even imagine how much pain she was in, but your words definately painted the picture.

She will forever live on in the people who she touched with her talent and love and individuality.

I think it's interesting to read both poems and compare how the thoughts and feelings are revealing themselves in your writing. Although you are still devestated in your words, the shape of them and the more definitive thoughts show you are now writing in her memory rather than yours of her accident - not being there to save her. That all might sound confusing but maybe come back and re-read the review in a years time and see what I mean.
Very sad and I know you really miss her.

A good piece. Try to check for errors in your typing before you post - I always have a bunch of typos and have to go back and fix them, but it's worth it. Best of luck, and keep writing :)

That was a very touching and descriptive poem. I really hope you weren't there to witness such a traumatizing event, but if you were, you must be a very strong person in overcoming this sort of scene. Thank you sharing this poem with me. It was very emotional. T.T
