Claw marksA Poem by eRead the quote “everything I’ve ever let go of has Clark marks on it” by David foster Wallace and I wrote this about it. It’s about wanting something so desperately but it never fufilling ur needs“Everything I’ve ever let go of has claw marks on it” my knuckles turn white and my hands go numb I grasped on not checking its stability, my forefinger crushes my thumb Fibres of desperation crust under my nails I’m too driven to let go my palms now impaled Maybe I’m too weak My hands start to slip Why am I aching I start to loose grip I let go accepting fate, Delusional yet driven like a fish to bate When I find something I enjoy I cling onto it for dear life blindsided by hope my blistered hands need iced Must be short term memory, discovery, addiction, healing I wish I didn’t feel so intensely My skin is left peeling. © 2023 eAuthor's Note
