Being so close and inseperable to a family member and losing that closeness over time.

In our veins

Pulsing at the same time

A life so similar,

Still not in mine.

 

As my eyes first opened

There you stood

Then I blinked to long

Are you gone for good?

 

Knitted together

As close as could be

Time tugged on those threads

And pulled you away from me.

 

That first memory I've got

That moment has been

But why didn't you notice

All that time in between

 

One year, two,

maybe more

I don't know when it happened 

Because it didnt hurt before

 

To turn the timer

We could run into the past

And look closer

So what we had could last

 

Then turn it forward

To where I need,

To where we remember

The blood that we bleed.
