Love Made, Broken, Rebuilt to Last

Love Made, Broken, Rebuilt to Last

A Poem by Erin Austen
"

Love never leaves you the same.

"
I smiled,
You smiled back.

Who knew that I would love you,
Just like that.

It happened so fast
So little did I know,
So much I would learn.

How to laugh so loud,
my ribs hurt.
How to love so much,
my heart hurt.
How to cry so hard,
my eyes burned.

You taught me everything
You showed me the way
You let me grow.

I am who I am because I learned,
I learned how to love from you.

It wasn't easy,
But it wasn't hard.

Our love was patient,
Kind,
Long,
Fast.

Your love made me.
Your love destroyed me.
Your love rebuilt me.

Our love was made to last.
