Chapter 6

Chapter 6

A Chapter by ErinAlex

The moment ended.
I had just spotted the ocean. It was a little blue blur in the distance.

Then, the most extrodinary thing happened.
It turned its head!

I mean, the head turned ALL OF THE WAY AROUND?!
Aaahhhhhhhhhh!!!!! What in Startribe's mice? How the hell does it do that?! It is a trainer from the Hell! I'm dooooooooomed! HHHHEEEEELLLLLPPPPPP!

My head shrieked with insults.
The creature seemed to laugh before turning its head back around.
I must have been a hideous sight. All I saw was my winkled clothes, but I can imagine my appreance.

I had my hair sticking up EVERYWHERE.
My heart was beating faster than a car.
The blood dripped faster from my eye as my heart beat increased.
I was a mess.

The owl hooted, as if in the battle it had already won.

No!

This owl was NOT about to have a feast with this kid on the side!
I gaped my mouth, and bit. Again.

My teeth sank into its back, but that did no help.

I slipped. My hands skidded on the fresh blood and I fell hurtling into the night sky.

But that didn't last long either.

It caught me, and held me close to its chest in order to have a firm grip.

I glared at the chest feathers that tickled my nose. That's me, the side dish of the night! Would you like a juicy sparrow on the side? No.... okay.

I mocked myself. The feathers irritated me, and I sneezed. Finnaly, I saw the real damage I could do.

When Sharp had attacked me, he had delibritley aimed but missed my throat.

The throat.

I had heard a little talk about the large, life giving artery.
This was my chance.

I glanced down. We were starting to land back in Shadowclan territroy, right at the edge of the bank. We were still many sky lenghs over the trees, and if I had tried, I bet I could've touched the moon and stars.

I was going to die, no matter what.
But I would perfer not to become a dish of Fancy Feast.

I had also heard of Fancy Feast, Tawny had told me. She had heard it from a person named Purdy, whoever that was.

My mouth opened, and I bit, right under the chin.
My eyes were sealed shut, and I felt the talons ripping my skin.
Blood was dripping off my body.

Great Startribe, save me. Please!

I felt myself losing altitude extreamly fast.

I squinted my eye open, and when I saw the sight, it bolted wide.
The owl was in front of me, its eyes closed and beak stained with blood.

In my jaws was still clasped a large piece of throat skin.
But the worst picture, was still below me.
I looked down curiously. The world was tree tops away, and blood was everywhere already.

It was spilling down in the sky.
It was dripping from the trees.
It was staining the lake.
Everywhere.

I looked at my body and saw my skin. I may have been a red haired boy for all I cared!

In the distance, I heard Tawny cry as she ran toward us.
But I also heard Little, his voice rang above all of the noises.
"It's a sign! The sky is streaked with bloody lightning, a terrible truth is in our future!" My body froze.

Not only because I was disturbed by the words, but the ground was only a few hundred feet below me!
A calm sensation flowed through me. I wrinkled my face, closing my eyes as tight as I could.
I prayed.

Starclan, please accept me!

Was it useless?

Was it needed?

Was it accepted?

How would I know.

I only remember peeking open my eye.

The ground was right there.

I saw many colors,

heard Tawny's strangled cry,

and the world went black.

Was it forever?

Was the pain over?

I wish.
