Chapter 2A Chapter by ErinAlex
I slunk in the bushes back to Tawny.
I didn't want to be seen. I didn't want to be heard. I wanted to be alone. Tawny was sitting next to a dark ginger man. His eyes glowed affectionately and her glimmered with love. Now I was really confused. I thought her husband had been Black. I had been wrong. She didn't notice me, but kept talking to the man. "What do you think is wrong?" she asked. "Well, maybe he's mute." The man shrugged. Tawny stared in amazement. "Mute?! But he's lean, strong, he's perfect..." she mumbled. The man stroked her back. "He still is perfect, just quiet." She glanced desperately at him. "But Rowan, how will he live?" Rowan shrugged. "He would go through a day like normal." "No, he wouldn't he can't state his opinions, warn anyone, or even tell his mate how much he loves her." she ended in a whisper. Rowan kissed her cheek. "We will help him." Tawny smiled and her eyes sparkled. "I knew we would." she whispered. He smiled. "Want to hunt?" Tawny vigorously nodded her head in agreement. My stomache lurched. What did mute mean? Was it good or bad? My head swam with thoughts and ideas. "Snow!" Tawny yowled. A queen stuck her pure white head out of the trainers den. "Yes Tawny?" she answered. "Can you watch Fleck?" Tawny asked. Snow nodded. "I would love to Tawny." Tawny smiled. "Thank you," she then walked away with her husband. Snow turned to me. "Want to play?" she asked. I nodded happily. "Okay, catch the ball in the air." she instructed. She grabbed a ball and threw it far into the air. I jumped. I mean, jumped jumped. My legs unfolded below me, catapulting me into the air. My short gray hair was waving in the air. Snow watched In amazement as I jumped right over her head. She laughed. "You are quite the jumper!" I laughed noiselessly. She inspected me closely. "How high do you think you can go?" she asked. I shrugged. She nodded. "Oh well, let's see how high you can jump." she held the ball between her hands over her head. I leaped, easily tagging it. She stood on Tawney's bed, I still caught it. She dropped the ball, surprised. "Well, you are a real jumper!" I smiled and eyed the ball. She looked at the sun sinking. "Bedtime." she yawned. "Let's go." She led me into the nursery and had me lay in my bed. Soon, I was asleep. © 2012 ErinAlex |
