Whose dream are you living?

Whose plan will you follow

What will you pursue

Which people will you invest in

If it were completely up to you?

But it's not all up to you

Whose voice affects you

Whose arguments weigh heavy

What things catch your attention

Which people influence you

and when will you notice their power over you?

For good or for worse

When will you notice

and take a stand?

Take a stand - 

For the dreams you will chase

and the dreams the Lord has laid on your heart

For the plans you will follow

and the greater plan you are a part of

For the things worth pursuing

and the people you will invest in

When will you stand

What will you chase

Who will you follow

And what, in the end,

Will you have lived for?

Will you stand today?

it is my belief that the kind of questions you ask in this poem should be reserved for ourselves, but i know a lot of people of mild intent do this...in the game of life the ball is always in our own court...i have read your posted writings here this morning (except for one of course), and i want to congratulate you on sharing these inner dialogues...this kind of soul searching and revelation is the very stuff of a growing humanity...good for you

Hello Erika! I really like your voice in this poem, speaking the reader like a frnd, reminding about the reality of life and confusion we all go through every single and that is our purpose of life. But as you said in your poem we are a part of a greater plan, and to follow that plan we must follow His words, and His path...

But sadly we do not find the courage within us to stand for the right things and that keeps us down all our life...

Now about your writing style, I think it's a free verse style combined with flow which is really great...
