Until I forget youA Poem by Erika
You will be invited to my wedding,
A chair will be reserved for you In th front row, Even though I know You won't make it In time for the vows. You moved out, Without packing your bags. Took the train, Terminus to the Above. Left quietly, Without a goodbye. Your soul Wanders the garden, Under the moonlight, When the world is alseep Looking for you In an altered consciousness. You always knew What to say, How to make My lips sway. Your laugh has gone quiet, The world has been silent. I loved you an alcoholic I never wish to be sober OF you. Your touch has been me an addict You're a drugs off the market. You're slipping away From my fingers I'm chasing after you, Don't go any further We are running down the streets It's a game Of cat and mouse. I ran until I fell, Breathless. I cried until I could't, Helpless. I'm lost in a forest of despair How many scars do I have to spare? I am a shell A shadow A drunken sailor. without you, I am lost at sea. Without you, I will never know glee. rain pours From the falling sky Water washes Over me, I am nothing But your temporary art. In my heart, Was planted a knife, Teach me how to sew skin, I'll never stop bleeding. I can't move My body goes numb Grief is love Stuck in shallow Waters. Freeze my heart, Bury it in snow. I watched my life run Out the window It was tired of living in your shadow I never tried to stop it from leaving A life without you Isn't worth living. The flowers i brought to your grave Are dying. I'm sorry, I haven't been visiting. It tears my heart to honor your death My delusion Is all I have left. I'll carve your name In my skin. Make perfume Out of your smell On your old T-shirts You won't die Until I forget you. A picture A letter And your sweater, Put them in a box And save them for later Maybe when my heart Won't ache And my eyes Will dry, I'll smile, Never cry, At the thought Of you and I.
