A poem about beauty in the most unlikely of places.
It's funny how God shows up when you least expect him.
Those moments when your hope is gone and everything seems so dim.
He appears in the most unlikely of places. He catches your eye like a beautiful smile in a sea of faces. Or a beautiful rose coming up through a crack in a sidewalk that has been there for ages.
His fingerprints are everywhere. We would see them if we would just take the time to slow down and stop and stare. But anymore we simply just don't care.
We get caught up in this world and no matter what we have we always want more. We hide ourselves behind our cellphones and our closed doors.
We foolishly think that beauty is our outer appearance. We dress ourselves up and advertise our bodies as if them were on clearance.
When did people stop seeing that true beauty in on the inside? When did we give up on morals and let them die?
Is beauty not seen in this world daily!? Is it not heard in the first cries of a baby? Or seen in something so small and common as a daisy?
We look for it all around us, but it is often found when it is most unexpected. And when you see it for the first time your whole view of it will be corrected.
It is most abundant in the ugliest of places. Like a rose in a sidewalk that has been there for ages.
^^ I really like this theme, I like seeing flowers growing out of side walks or cement, I have a wild forget-me-not in front of my house that is growing out of cement lol It is sad that it seems people are getting away from morals, but this life is going to be like that until Jesus comes back, so that's a day to look forward to. I think my favorite part is the second stanza. You did a good job, I see some places where it needs editing but other than that it's good.
Hey, I read your author's note and I think this one is one of your best. I'm always trying to be more humble and love myself less, so for some reason I found this very meaningful! Its true that we're constantly advertising ourselves and it bothers me that all of us are too self-centered. Thanks for writing this man.
I like the message behind this piece. For me, it reminds me of the good things in life, and that when we stop to look, usually there is a message there for us..something to remind us of the real meaning in life...nature, friends, a moment's peace....I also like the rhyming scheme here...well used to back up the poem.
Overall, a good read that show the reader where to look for some inspiration...thanks for sharing this piece .

I really like this one. It radiates truth and honesty. Your perspective is similar to mine. Why don't we see beauty in the way things are made. Life is always a rush now for people, always on the go, always have something to do. I like to live my life in a more relaxed way, where I can enjoy the little things. The beauty is everywhere for all to see, if they would only open their eyes, look through the fog of life and at the clarity in front of them. The message is strong. Brilliant work!! Wonderfully penned! xo (:

I love your spirit my brother, in such a young age you understood the truth. God bless you
I think I like this a lot ... i like it more than any other work I have read of yours ... it is simple, not preachy and written so others can say 'yeah I understand, that happened to me' well done xx
I've been using writing as an outlet for the stress and anger of life since I was a kid. More just freestyle or creative writing than anything. I let my feelings guide me more..
