Not Ready Yet

A poem about abortion from the point of view of the child.

I'm not ready yet.
To say goodbye to you.

There are so many things that I wanted to do.
Like tell you that I love you.

Why are you letting go?
I know that you would love me if you only gave me a chance.
See I am not monster growing inside of you.

What gives you the right?
To just give up and end my life.

Are you so blind that you can not see?
That God did a miracle when you conceived me.

So just close your eyes.
Pretend I'm not alive.

All your excuses can't destroy the truth.
It's murder you are committing with your right to choose.

So I will just say good-bye.
And go up to my home in the sky.
Shattered inside.

This is a truly beautiful poem. I'm pro life anyway, but this just strengthens my belief. We could be murdering some truly amazing people, and now we're making it legal. Terribly sad and awful. Thank you for sharing this.

Strong point of view put forth in a loving way. Gives the reader something to think about and will probably sit with them for a while to come.
'Because all of your excuses can't destroy the truth.
It's murder you are committing with your right to choose.'
Watch out for extra words that may not be needed... for example 'Because and It's' read aloud to see how it all flows ...
