My Father

My Father

A Poem by Erik Daniel
"

The reasons I call God my father.

"
From the moment you are born to the moment you die he is right by your side.
And just like the north star he will be your guide.

And just like you look like your parents;
To him you also bear a striking resemblance.

He sees everything you do and knows all your secrets.
And when times get tough he will be there for you in your weakness.

Even when you reject him he is always there.
He is there for you when no one else seems to care.

His yoke is easy and his burden is light.
And in his arms you know that you will always be alright.

His mercies are new every morning.
And when storms are ahead he gives us a warning.

He gives hope to the hopeless.
A voice to the voiceless.
A purpose to the useless.
And he make our lives flawless.

Even when the devil makes me feel weak I put my hope in you because you are stronger.
My life is a book and you are its bestselling author.
And these are some of the many reasons I call you my father.

I love this, and needed this, too! Absolutely love the lines: "He gives hope to the hopeless. A voice to the voiceless. A purpose to the useless." And "my life is a book and you are its bestselling author." Beautiful. So much meaning in just a few words.

There needs to be so much more writing on here like this!!

Thank you. Means a lot.
God is the best replacement parent anyone can ever have...I know what He did for me....and I can really relate to this one because for each time I've felt alone and depressed He Is always there to pick me up..For each problem and lack I had,He was always there to provide in ways I've never seen...things my earthly father never did..and what's really surprising is How He structures your life to come out beautiful even when you've gone through things that should leave you abnormal or suicidal...Our lives are really in the palm of His hand.....thank you

^^ I think this is my favorite one so far that you have written. It explains perfectly why people do love and follow God, because he does know everything about us and still loves us and wants us to be part of his family. It is especially nice to fall back on these thoughts when we feel alone or like no one cares because that isn't true, because God is always there and he will always care and want the best for us.

Great Job
