Every Man Has His PriceA Poem by EricaAn odd, offbeat poem. Please let me know what you think? Constructive criticism is always appreciated.Every man has his price, So what's your's? What causes your heart to grow sore? Heavy and sore?
Every man has his price, the reasons he'd take a life the reasons he'd bury strife. No two are alike.
Every man has his price, the motives for which he need not think twice, Yes, every man has his price. and in this game of games, we're all one in the same.
One in the same entirety. One in the same place. One in the lack of sincerity. And One in the yawning void of space.
Through thick and thin, we're there, until our last, gasping breath.
Through thick and thin, we're there, until the memories of us meet death.
And that is how we know we've been a success.
We've lived, loved, Hated, laughed, and cried.
We've spread out our arms, and we've spread them out wide.
Embracing change, making names, playing games.
And then we died.
A group mourned, hearts were torn, shining skies turned dark. Sunshine became storms.
The earth was shaken, at your loss, though you'll never know.
You'll never see the hearts that were breakin', Or the toll your death had taken.
And now you're being reborn. The earth has moved on and is now being reformed.
Can you see the success?
You lived. then Died. The Earth Thrived, then cried.
You're starting fresh, taking another chance. Through your new, rose colored glasses the earth has you entranced.
So don't loose it now, whatever it is, that miracle of rebirth, The miracle that only more life can give.
Sit in the grass, and breath deeply. Learn all you can, until . . . Until you get sleepy.
And when you dream, take a careful look at the scene, because these reflections of reality show us that things aren't always what they seem. © 2011 Erica |
