Mother NatureA Poem by EricaA poetic personification of nature and the elements.Child - Sing me a story full of life and creation! Sing me a story of impressive inspiration! Grandpa - Alright, My dear, But listen well, and be sure to hear.
Narrator - Water poured from her eyes, as she sat alone. She had nothing for herself. Nothing to call her own. Little did she know, that her tears would become life. Her tears would eliminate her heartfelt strife. Her daughter, Water, was born, from the heart of mother earth, she was formed.
Water was lonely, and needed someone to play so by her next birthday, Air was made. Air swirled and flipped around Water's raw form. Water was content with backstage, while Air craved to perform. Mother nature was happy, but water grew cold. She needed a warm hearted sister, if truth be told.
The earth came next, his old voice told. Land masses planted in waters so cold. They soon warmed up, and plants took root. Trees grew, providing shelter and fruit. Animals were nurtured, by the earth. Mother Nature's grandchildren, living life for all it's worth.
But even earth couldn't keep away the cold for long. The grandchildren's moans became a heartwrenching song. Fire was crafted, to keep the children warm. Around which they would gather, crowd and swarm. Telling stories and laughing, Living carefree, And that is the history of all that is or ever will be. © 2010 EricaReviews
