Black Stand

Black Stand

A Poem by Erica :)

A black stand with
cracked opal glass and
smooth gray pebbles
sitting in a living
room, in the corner,
covered by shadows,
and alone.

Shivering from the
cold metal and
unforgiving glass,
weeping for the sun
the pebbles once
soaked in. This

stand mirrors her.
Huddled in the corner,
with holey rags
and torn sandals.
Pining for the
embrace of the one
who has forgotten
her, in the gloom
of an abandoned
apartment filled with

black, molded roses.
