"Life Happens in The Fraction of a Question"

"Life Happens in The Fraction of a Question"

A Poem by EricGodsil
"

hmmm...I mean the world is going to end in 9 months. Would it hurt you to check this out?

"

"Do...",

Her hair an ambient extension of the wind,

forming notes to the songs of my heart,

the bass drops as it sinks into the answer.

"you...",

Sincerity radiates from her eyes,

momentarily displacing her insouciant affections,

which reserve their place molded with her beauty.

"think...",

I snap back to the moment,

fixated as her lips form,

the most important question she has ever asked me.

"we..."

Periodicly distracted by her sheer presence,

and the overwhelming urge to ease her mind,

so I may once again occupy her thoughts.

"will..."

The power to move mountains of adversity,

freeing the flow of radical behavior,

the kind which will irrevocably redefine the meaning of love.

"make...",

A loving, beautiful, amazing family,

security through our endeavors and travels,

a hearth in which to usher in our future.

"it..."

her lips are barely parted,

half an exhalation slowly exits her soul,

as the other half is reserved.

"?..."

I open up every pore so my spirit may permeate my resolution,

letting my lungs breath in the response,

as my eyes exhale the answer

... ...

Yes.

i like the stream-of-consciousness within the context of the question, how he's focused soley on her, but fully aware of the question. great piece.

I love to write. Usually I have to feel inspired though; which could be brought on by anything at any moment. I suffer from writers block for a good chunk out of a year. Once I start writing though I .. more..
