A Merry Go RoundA Poem by Adam ThompsonI wrote this last year in the back of a notebook... don't remember which class it was from. Probably history.
Come on lets go back in time.
Do not worry, it's all fine, It's really not that hard to go and do. We both know we're sick of this All these garbled politics Which with us have really naught to do Really now, don't be shy Lets give it one good try We really have nothing left to lose The wheel of time goes round and round So alike a merry go round Always coming back to where it just began So going back is just the same As going forward again Ho-now, woah-now We have no time left to borrow, To find our way to yestermorrow. So let's instead give a little back. Today is but a fig-a-ment, Of yesterdays prior events. Nothing is ever really new. Careful not to look behind. Cause you mine accidentally find, Exactly what is coming round the bend The wheel of time goes round and round So alike a merry go round Always coming back to where it just began So going back is just the same As going forward again Ho-now, woah-now. I took the ferry down the river And what I found made me shiver Because it seemed from where I came was now People arguing, no one stopping No one thinks to cease talking And give a lending ear to what they say So as I sit there surrounded I try to keep my self grounded Instead of going up on ignorants balloon. The wheel of time goes round and round So alike a merry go round Always coming back to where it just began So going back is just the same As going forward again Ho-now, woah-now. © 2011 Adam ThompsonAuthor's Note
