Harsh White Lights/Timekeeper

Harsh White Lights/Timekeeper

A Poem by Adam Thompson

I'm driving through the darkness
Blinded by the harsh white lights.
A headache's beating in my head,
My stomach feels like ice.
And I'm wondering why it had to change
Why did she have to die?
You lost a rock amongst the storm
That fills your hope less life

Wind is whipping all around me
Tearing at your face.
The rain is pouring down me
Pounding out a rapid pace
And I feel a trepidation
Moving down along your spine.
A rock is cradled in your soul
Weighing down my mind.

Timekeeper why don't you tell me
Why did she have to die
Before she even faced the storm
Her life was lost to time
Time is what has took her
Her life lost right at the chime
Her hand were so far forward
That she didn't even wind.

Timekeeper you are uncaring.
Timekeeper you are unkind.

Her hands were so far forward
That she didn't even get to wind.
