A Mothers Love

A Mothers Love

A Poem by Adam Thompson
"

I wrote this for my mother on mothers day.

"
A mother's love is many things
A blanket when you're cold
the crack of a whip when you're out of line
a band aid on a scraped knee
But more then that, it's selflessness.
The ability to give, and give, and give
The ability to find some beauty to cherish
In everything their child has ever did.

They say that love is special
from each person it's unique
well a mother's love is many things
and it means everything to me.

A mothers love is many things
A reassuring word when you're down
A loud cheering in the stands
a video camera zoomed in only on your face
But more then that, it's forgiveness.
The ability to forgive no matter what
be it for a silly mistake
or if you crashed your fathers truck.

They say that love is special
from each person it's unique
well a mother's love is many things
and it means everything to me.

A mother's love is many things
an embrace in a thunderstorm
a guiding hand across a busy street
a heart beat that lulls you to sleep
But more then that it's always being there.
From the very pain that you're born
to the day you grew and left your home
you are always welcome there.

They say that love is special
from each person it's unique
well a mother's love is many things
and it means everything to me.

Ignored "ever did" I know "did" is wrong, it's just the only way I could say what I wanted and still rhyme. Otherwise , enjoy.
