Egotitis (Noun) [
Med] - Inflammation of the ego. A common psychological disorder similar to megalomania. Egotitis causes the afflicted to believe they are better than everyone else, that they can do anything better than anyone else. Unlike megalomania, a person can be perfectly sane and still be an egotitic. In teenage cases, may also cause the afflicted to believe they are invincible. While egotitis is technically noncontagious, exposure to egotitic persons may activate suppressed egotitic genes. There is no cure for egotitis, but many treatments, including therapy, exist.
