Fire

Fire

A Poem by Elisa
"

A super short poem -- especially by my standards.

"

Fire

Black beating hearts set all afire.

The water comes blaring down,

But it does not suffice.

"It's dead." I say;

I do not care.

It still beats and bears weight.

I must be alive.

Twangs of pain

Sharpened by spikes!

That is the real fire...

Be careful --

When you feel that spark --

That I, myself, did ignite.

All of my writing is dark and I do not believe in writing "happy endings" because they sound pathetic to me. I also tend to make my writing gruesome, with death being a common factor. If you read th.. more..
