A Storm's HauntingA Poem by ElisaA poem depicting a phantom that seems to be even more present during a storm.A Storm’s Haunting The house was Pounding Blinded by the light sky. Fear radiating Through the walls. *BOOM!* The lights flicker And the figures Creep. A single light Leads the way. *BOOM!* *flash* *CRASH!* The heart races; What is there to fear? The destination is Reached. Is it possible, There is more fear? The darkness Destroys the light Encroaching until It is absolute. At every glance, Fear brings himself In and out of view. Those glowing eyes And fluorescent smile Smirk in his insipid satisfaction. He appears Every night. Always when alone; Vulnerable. The storm forgotten With only Fear In its place. © 2013 Elisa |
