Reality

A Poem by Elisa
"

I wrote this in about a minute. Read it; it does not have the same elements my other ones would.

"

Reality

Tell me that I’m crazy!

Tell me that you’re sane!

Tell me life is but a dream

And you are my nightmare!

I want a better life for me!

I want to move on!

Stop smiling;

Stop looking at me

With those eyes!!!

I’m ready for the journey,

I’m ready to begin;

The past

Needs to disappear

And forget who I was.

I found a new future

That you are not a part,

But my heart

Is breaking,

Yearning for the magic.

I’m stabbed,

I’m bruised, and

I’m broken!

Let me live a life of love

Far from that smile!

STOP talking!

STOP tearing my reality!

My days with you

Are over.

Let me,

Let him

Take your place.

Interesting.

An emotional write, to say the least. The narrator obviously wants the freedom to pursue a new life, without the pains that were overwhelming in the past. I sense a desperation in this piece, as if the narrator is being prevented from moving on to the better life they desire, either physically or mentally. For the former, sometimes a good restraining order is needed. In the case of the latter, only time can affect a change.

Not bad.

All of my writing is dark and I do not believe in writing "happy endings" because they sound pathetic to me. I also tend to make my writing gruesome, with death being a common factor. If you read th.. more..
