Today, Tomorrow, No More

Today, Tomorrow, No More

A Poem by Elisa
"

A poem about needing to let go.

"

Today, Tomorrow, No More

I am a bird;

You are my maker.

The light you bring

Extends beyond life.

I cannot handle

Your presence "

You kill me with a smile.

My stone is shattered

All unturned crushed more!

The weight pounds

And the air is slipping…

I beg you;

Let me fly away!

My wings are broken,

But I am mended

By your spirit’s watch.

Let me go.

My leaving has failed,

But my choices now

Are to either leave,

Or die

With my shattered wings;

Failing to carry me

To where I need to be.

Today is

My final goodbye.

All of my writing is dark and I do not believe in writing "happy endings" because they sound pathetic to me. I also tend to make my writing gruesome, with death being a common factor. If you read th.. more..
