After a long rain delay last night, the Toronto Blue Jays hammered the Los Angeles Angels 15-1.
At the postgame press conference, Jay's Manger, Charlie Montoyo said his hitters were patient at the plate at the walks were the difference in last night's game. In the bottom of the second inning, the Jays scored seven runs. First, Santiago Espinal scored on a error. Up 3-0, Randal Grichuk hit a three run double. Then Espinal drove in Grichuk with a single to make it a 7-0 game. In the bottom of the third inning, the Jays went ahead 9-0 when Bo Bichette hit a two run double. Bo Bichette had five RBIs last night. Then, Vladmir Guerrero Jr. drove in Bichette with a single. The Angels got their lone run at the top of the fourth inning when Anthony Rendon hit a solo home run. In the bottom of the fourth, rookie, Josh Palacios drove in Espinal with a single. Bichette put the Jays up 13-1 with another two run double. Guerrero Jr. drove in Bichette with a single. Joe Panik drove in Palacios with a single in the bottom of the eighth inning. Bichette went two for four at the plate and had five RBIs. Toronto's starting pitcher, Steven Matz went six innings, allowing five hits, an earned run, three walks, and struck out four batters. Rendon went two for four at the plate and had a RBI. Angel's starting pitcher, Jose Quintana didn't last two innings. Quintana went just 1.2 innings, allowing five hits, five earned runs, four walks, and struck out four batters. Game Four is today, but is in a rain delay as I write this. © 2021 Hockeygirl |
