Toronto Maple Leaf's goalie, Jack Campbell, broke the franchise record, winning 10 straight games for a net minder as his team defeated the Montreal Canadiens.
Jack Campbell breaks franchise record. It was also Toronto's fifth straight win. The first time the team has done that this season. Auston Matthews scored just 54 seconds into the game to put the Leafs up 1-0. Corey Perry tied the game at 2:15 of the first period. There was no scoring in the second period. "It wasn't a good second period for us," said Leaf's head coach, Sheldon Keefe at the postgame press conference. T.J Brodie put the Leafs ahead 2-1 at 2:32 of the third period. Zach Hyman made it 3-1 Leafs at 10:21. Perry scored his second goal of the game at 17:45 with the extra attacker. Hyman and Matthews both had two points. Campbell stopped 32 shots last night. Toronto has two nights off before hosting the Ottawa Senators on Saturday.
