Auston Matthews scores two in Leaf's win. There was no scoring in the first period. Jason Spezza opened the scoring for Toronto at 3:10 of the second period. Matthews scored his first goal of the game at 7:53. At 18:06, Calgary's Andrew Mangiapane scored. Mikael Backlund tied the game at 4:17 of the third period. Wayne Simmonds put the Leafs up 3-2 at 7:13. Backlund tied the game again with a short handed goal at 10:05. Just 45 seconds later, Matthews scored on a power play. John Tavares scored the reassuring goal at 12:10. Toronto's William Nylander had two assists. Calgary's Elias Lindhiolm also had two assists. Toronto hosts the Montreal Canadiens tomorrow night.
