The fact the Leafs lost 4-2 is a bit of a miracle. After all, the Avalanche are really hot right now and the team has the best goalie in the league. Jonathan Bernier, who has a 2.58 goals against average and a .920 save percentage this season. Colorado opened the scoring at 2:19 of the first period with a goal by Gabriel Bourque. Patrick Marleau tied the game just 19 seconds into the second period. At 9:17 of the second, (period), Auston Matthews put the Leafs ahead 2-1. Over a minute later, Nail Yakupov tied the game. The Avs. went ahead for good at 12:17 of the third period with a goal by Blake Comeau. Colorado scored another goal before the end of regulation. The Leafs head off to Chicago to face the Blackhawks tomorrow night.
