Nathan Mackinnon
Yesterday, I wrote in the preview of this game that the Toronto Maple Leafs had to be aware when Colorado Avalanche's forward, Nathan MacKinnon when he was on the ice. Last night, MacKinnon showed how dangerous he is offensively. MacKinnon finished the night with a goal and two assists. He even scored the first goal of the game at 11:24 of the first period. The game was basically a see-saw battle. At 14:55 of the first period, Matt Martin tied the game 1-1. At 10:29, Mikko Rantanen put the Avs. ahead 2-1. Roman Polak tied the game at 14:04. At 4:34 of the third period, Alexander Kerfoot scored to make it 3-2 Avalanche. With a little over a minute to go in regulation, James Van Riemsdyk tied it up and push the game into overtime. J.T. Compher scored a power play goal 3:25 into O.T. to give the Avalanche the 4-3 win. Avalanche's goalie, Semyon Varlamov, stopped 31 shots last night. Toronto heads to Vegas to face the Golden Knights tomorrow night. © 2017 HockeygirlReviews
