BabelA Poem by Andrea Di MartinoBefore the tower fell God spoke simply, In directives as clear as "Pass the salt."
Before we began to climb God loved us as we love sex, Down amid the mud And the dirt and the pain.
But...the tower did fall Destroying our ears For all time, Hearing without listening.
Since the tower fell God speaks simply in omens, portents and open interpretations. © 2008 Andrea Di Martino |
