A Poem by Andrea Di Martino

Long ago,
Your genes swam
In great rusty oceans.
Battered by the tides
Of a giant moon,
The heat of volcanoes,
Radiation from a baby sun.

Congratulations:
For thousands of years
You have been a success.

But everyday
You die a little.
Cells becoming dust.
