Glory Days

Glory Days

A Poem by EpiphanyPrince (Adam)
"

Musicians need writers and writers need musicians.

"

My life started on the wrong road

Always walking backwards

Doing what I was told

There’s no time for grief

Working all the hours

In a seven day week.

I’m holding my hands

In the wind

I’m half hoping

For double time

And a silver line

A cool mint so hot

She melts my desperation.

(Chorus)

Hoping for a chance

To find my way back

To cheap gas good wine or moonshine

A radio a high five

And every pretty girl

Catching my eye

This f*****g grind

Ruined all the good times.

Sleeps gotten hard

No time for dreams

I’m too tired for pick up lines

I’ve forgotten how to kiss

Your dirty little lips

I can’t afford to be

What you want form me

Dollar signs

Guide poetic tragedies.

Life keeps hitting me

Like a sucker punch

Tie me on a sandbar

Looking up

I need an eclipse

For my minds hiccups

Forget your dark side

That traces the sky

With telescope eyes.

(Chorus)

Hoping for a chance

To find my way back

To cheap gas good wine or moonshine

A radio a high five

And every pretty girl

Catching my eye

This f*****g grind

Ruined all the good times.

Turn on a light

Realize life

Is an old carnival ride

Looks real good

Till you start to fly

So I got to live with me

Till the day this life dies.

F**k it I’ll do it

For the good times

Can’t blame me for living

Chasing a vibe

Life is a confused fantasy

I still thank God

That I am alive

But I still ask

Who the hell am I?

(Chorus)

Hoping for a chance

To find my way back

To cheap gas good wine or moonshine

A radio a high five

And every pretty girl

Catching my eye

This f*****g grind

Ruined all the good times.

(Bridge)

Maybe I’m

Caught in a commercial feed

Maybe it doesn’t matter

If you don’t remember me

This is to our glory days

That we never got to make

Hoping for a free breath

And another new day

Just to believe.

(Chorus)

Hoping for a chance

To find my way back

To cheap gas good wine or moonshine

A radio a high five

And every pretty girl

Catching my eye

This f*****g grind

Ruined all the good times.

To cheap gas good wine or moonshine

A radio a high five

And every pretty girl

Catching my eye.

Every pretty girl

Every girl

Every pretty girl

Every girl

Every pretty girl

Catching my eye.
