Broken Spears

Broken Spears

A Poem by EpiphanyPrince (Adam)
"

Musicians need writers and writers need musicians.

"

A blonde haired beauty queen

Shot to the top

Bubble gum chewy gooey

Snap crackle pop pop pop

Songs hits charts top top stop.

Winning in the flashbulb world

Costs losing a personal place

Take all my personal space

Cover me up without a trace

Stars only hide under the spotlight

Everything I do has to be right

Right?

(Chorus)

I love you, hate you, who the hell are you

Like O, M, G you can’t see

What your love does to me

Twisted, turned, primped and primed

Baby, baby, baby

The limelight burns

Bring the rain

Take away the pain

Hollywood days

Aren’t always perfect blue skies.

Travelled the globe

Bringing hope to pretty eyes

Turn my back

I try to smile at all your tabloid lies

But shooting stars

Are stars that cry.

Tumbling down from the midnight skies

No one really cares to find

The truth behind why stars fall from such great heights.

Love me

Why do I need to be perfect for everybody

When did the whole world turn into

My loving, trusting, self adjusting oh daddy

Sugar is supposed to be sweet

But when all you do is taste and take

You turn on my heart

Trusting you was a big mistake.

(Chorus)

I love you, hate you, who the hell are you

Like O, M, G you can’t see

What your love does to me

Twisted, turned, primped and primed

Baby, baby, baby

The limelight burns

Bring the rain

Take away the pain

Hollywood days

Aren’t always perfect blue skies.

(Bridge)

Lost clowns of fans fans

Go listen to other bands bands

Claps from empty hands hands

Taking control from man's man

I’m just trying to be free

Why is that wrong for a girl like me?

(Chorus)

I love you, hate you, who the hell are you

Like O, M, G you can’t see

What your love does to me

Twisted, turned, primped and primed

Baby, baby, baby

The limelight burns

Bring the rain

Take away the pain

Hollywood days

Aren’t always perfect blue skies.

I love you, hate you, who the hell are you

Like O, M, G you can’t see

What your love did to me

Set me free.
