I CandyA Chapter by Stephen CaldwellChapter 35: I Candy
Something moved from the corner of his eye. He looked at his phone. An hour and forty or so minutes had gone by. Trevor released his posture and lifted himself. He must’ve fallen asleep. But, not in a way he had planned on. As he found himself facing the chair where Jamie was and the computer across the room, not hung up on the actual screen, the two sitting there and what they were doing. A game was being played on the computer, Trevor leaned in on Jordan working on Jamie with a tattoo needle, and on to the drawing placed on a roll-able table near them. “I think it looks good.” Trevor blurted. The guy with the tattoo machine was unfazed. Trevor arched himself and looked closely at what was in progress. “Not bad.” Trevor spoke, as staring at his friend’s leg, which part of was going to be compiled into a picture composed of black ooze that was ink. Standing idly by, after a few moments asking Jamie how he felt. He briskly told him he didn’t think it hurt very bad. Trevor walked outside and stood in the center of a cement landing that was surrounded by stairs. Immediately, he was swarmed by two German shepherds and a normal dog. Trevor wasn’t startled, but skittish. They both stiffened up when they closed in. It wasn’t an attack by observation. In seconds they were slinking back off by to places in the yard. Trevor deducted going through the fence to get to his car would be the course of action. But, hesitant reeling in the latch, the dogs surrounded him in what could be considered a pattern. Trevor decided to slide the gate and get through. Closing it, he made out and pushed the gate to close forcefully. The incisive one of the shepherd pair shot the opening, but he pushed hard and slapped the pole in place and crammed the latch back. The surmounting animal bit Trevor on his left hand as he forgot to take it off the metal swinging gate. Trevor shrieked and dipped to the vehicle. © 2016 Stephen Caldwell |
