bluebird.

bluebird.

A Poem by Madison R. Forest
"

Afterlife is much colder than it seems.

"

broken bird
take refuge in my
burrowed bones
for the sky sings a storm
much louder than your song

drownèd dove
take comfort in my
distilled dreams
for the clouds as they collide
carry away your home

and i know how much you miss
the smells of lilac & dalhia
and i know how much the warm breeze
means to your homesick wings

but please let your feathers
warm my lonely breast
for in my grave i have not found
such thing as eternal rest.
