uncertainty

uncertainty

A Poem by Ephialtes Jones

quick!

hide your laughter!

spirit police scale the walls of faux Zen

to fondle golden shards

to bleed doubt on pure relics

bones and songs scatter

the burning prairie of dreams

(scars?)

nobody dances naked in this light

imperfections burn like midnight bonfires

laughter dismembers the cinders of hope

still, we roar

we waltz shin-deep

in the metaphysical gumbo

mother glances up through the weirs,

father’s ash shift on the waves

(ghosts?)

only memories,

yet,

no less striking

than gospel from a pig’s

mucky mouth

fiery daffodils roll the sleeping hillside

heads explode without obvious cause

nothing is as certain as uncertainty

imposter knowledge

is hanged from a timeline

glad the b*****d’s dead

wonder if he ever lived

nothing can be proven

either way

What it is to be tortured inside. I am momentary and eternal. You could be me if I were not. Who's victories did hell and I exterminate? Whatever sand that formed me is from the bottom of a dry well. .. more..
