Life Of A Fallen Leaf.

Life Of A Fallen Leaf.

A Poem by Mehak Mushtaq

Plucked, by me, by you,
crushed beneath the shoe.
Rises again with winds, then falls,
reaches a distance, flies or crawls.
Lives a life then dies and lives,
Your glory again birth gives.
Wind, the killer, the birth giver,
the shiver of life, the shake of death.
The first inhale and the last breath.

In a way, the simplest things move and interact with the world in a much greater capacity than us. Leaves have seen places I could only dream of going, Thier life, however exciting, damaging, ragabash, is understood. To crush a man, a snail, a dog, or a snake, is so tabboo to most, but a leaf, though it boasts the same earthbound future, is ignored. "Wind, the killer, the birth giver..." I felt better remembering that I wasnt the only one who plucked leaves, and I loved this line. We all serve a purpous, and by all I mean all.

Splendid in a word. Nature and the complications of life go hand in hand, this is lovely.

Very nice and fluid feeling. It is amazing what one can see if they just take the time to look...nature is waiting.

Yea. Thank you. :)
if a butterfly flits its wings in holland, will there be a tsunami in sri lanka? this is what's known as the butterfly effect. i love the way you made me think of this with the movement of a leaf within the wind's grasp. awesome....

I do understand your analogy of wind being the killer and birthgiver, as it is the wind that spreads the seed to begin a new tree, and the wind that shakes the leave off the tree in the autumn season....is that what you had in mind ? Very nice writing as always.

Well, in a way, yes. Thank you. :)
very nicely penned. very nice image. i loved how you have drawn that leaf with your pen making the reader feeling they are at autumn time and the leaves a falling down. i loved how you have picked the words and how you have drawn the images with such a nice flow...

This feels like a profound piece and is a flowing piece that provokes autumnal images. I didn't quite relate to wind as a killer and birth giver though.

That's okay. Thank you.
Ahh, this was beautiful. :)
My favorite line would have to be
"Wind, the killer, the birth giver"
Great job!
